As per the ‘Sthala Puranas’; the area where the temple is situated is at the latitude of N12`54` and longitude of E77`32` which is exactly in a straight line to the Vasantha Vallabha Temple co-ordinates and corresponds to the path taken by Prabhu Sri Rama. As per Brahmanda Purana; Mother Anasuya; the wife of Rishi Athri; who were meditating on the banks of Kaveri river (Vrishabhavati) nearby; on the behest of the Trimurtis; met Silavati in this forest area to convince her to let the Sun rise in mitigation of SageAni Mandava’s curse. It is believed that in this area; the Trimurtis – Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva gave Anasuya Mata the boon of being born as her sons (Brahma as Chandra; Vishnu as Dattatreya and Shiva as Durvasa). During Kruta Yuga; it is said that many great saints have performed austere penance in what was then a dense forest area with the ancient river Kaveri During the Treta Yuga; Prabhu Sri Rama is believed to have passed this area with the Vanara chieftains in pursuit of Seetha Mata who was held at Lanka. During the Dwapara Yuga; as mentioned in Mahabharata Adi Parva Chapter 106 and Chapter 107; Sage Ani Mandavya is said to have lived in this During the Kali Yuga; the Cholas (6th Century BCE to 13th Century AD) realised the heritage of the place and constructed temples in these lands. Subsequently; after continuous desecration by the invading forces; most of the ancient temple structures vanished in the Kalyaninagar (Bengaluru) and In the year 1992; Sri Hayagreevacharya; who was destined to establish and serve the Poornaprajna Nagara; first set foot onto the densely forested temple land with an ancient cave like structure. A devout Sanatana Dharma Practitioner; Sri Hayagreevacharya immediately recognised the divine symbolism when Naga Deva (King Cobra) with it’s raised hood blessed him and encircled the Stambha(Pillar) Anjaneya Swami. The area was immediately cleared of all impurities and with basic amenities; daily Pujas at the temple was started. From the year 2000; regular Homas and Satya Narayana Pujas were conducted for the next 22 years. In the year 2022; on the directives from various Jagadgurus; an ‘Ashta Mangala Prashne’ session was held wherein it was revealed that the temple; hitherto considered as only a ‘Anjaneya Temple’ was in fact a grand ancient Temple dedicated to Prabhu Sri Rama with the ‘Amsha’ of Ganesha, Eshwara and Guru Veda Vyasa. After completing the pre-requisite activities for the temple construction; the temple construction started on 15th July 2024; Kroshi Nama Samvatsara – Uttarayana – Hemant Ritu – Ashada Masa – Shukla Paksha – Navami Thithi. || Om Poornaprajna Sri Ramaya Namaha ||
